Terms & Conditions
General Definitions and Interpretation

Acceptance: State that the customer accepts these T&Cs by requesting a quote, booking a service, or accepting the provided scope of work.
Quotations and Pricing

Quotation Validity: We will specify how long a quote is valid for.

We will state whether a price is a fixed or an estimate.

Unforeseen Work: The final price may vary if unforeseen circumstances are encountered during the work (e.g., discovering hidden water damage, rusted or incompatible pipework behind walls, or asbestos).

Unforeseen issues work will stop, the client will be informed and a revised quote for the extra work will be issued, the client's approval will be obtained before proceeding.

We will specify whether the quote includes materials or if materials are charged separately.

Service and Scope of Work

We will define what is specifically included in the agreed-upon services.

We will clearly state what is not included (e.g., painting, cosmetic repairs to surfaces damaged during access, removal of certain waste materials).

The client must ensure clear access to the work area, secure pets, and inform the Plumbing & Gas Works of known hazards (e.g., existing asbestos, fragile pipework).

Goods

All goods shall remain the property of Plumbing & Gas Works until such time payment is received in full.

Warranties and Guarantees

We will provide a warranty period for the work performed. We will specify what this cover (defects in labour) and what it excludes (damage caused by misuse, normal wear and tear).

Product warranties (e.g., on a boiler, hot water unit, or fixture) are provided by the manufacturer, not Plumbing & Gas Works. We are responsible only for the installation.

Voiding the Warranty: The workmanship warranty can be voided (e.g., if another contractor attempts to repair our work, misuse of the installation or not following manufacturers guidelines of use).
Payment Terms

Invoicing: The client will be invoiced (immediately upon completion of work or part payment maybe required before commencement of work).

Payment Due Date: The payment period will be specified on the invoice.

Deposits: If applicable, we will state the required deposit amount and when it is due.

Late Payments: The consequences of late payment, such as interest charges or referral to a debt collection agency.
Health, Safety, and Compliance (Specific to Plumbing & Gas)

Compliance: Confirm that all work will be carried out to meet current Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3500 for Plumbing, AS/NZS 5601 for Gas) and local regulations.

Licensing: All work is performed by appropriately licensed and insured tradespeople.

Gas Compliance: For gas work, our obligation is to provide a Certificate of Compliance or equivalent regulatory documentation upon completion and payment.

Carbon Monoxide: We will specifically mention safety procedures related to gas appliances and proper ventilation.
Limitation of Liability

Maximum Liability: Limit of liability applies to the cost of the services provided, excluding indirect losses (e.g., loss of income, cost of temporary accommodation due to a repair).

Pre-Existing Conditions: We are not liable for damage or failure resulting from pre-existing defects in the client's plumbing/gas system that were not caused by our work.
Cancellations and Rescheduling

Client Cancellation: We will detail the notice period required for a client to cancel an appointment without penalty. There may be a cancellation fee if inadequate notice is given.

Plumbing & Gas Works Cancellation: We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule due to unforeseen events (e.g., illness, equipment failure, safety issues).
Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of Western Australia.
